RENO, Nev. – Three-time reigning Professional Women’s Bowling Association Player of the Year Liz Johnson of Palatine, Illinois, has made a career out of producing historic moments on the lanes, and now she’s added arguably the greatest accomplishment of her historic career.

Johnson defeated Anthony Pepe of Elmhurst, New York, 220-206, to win the Professional Bowlers Association Chameleon Championship on Saturday at the National Bowling Stadium to become the second woman to win a PBA Tour title.

He Defeats Jakob Butturff, Of Tempe, 256-222 To Win His First Major Championship 

Rhino Page captured his first career major championship after defeating top seed Jakob Butturff of Tempe, Arizona, in the title match of the 2017 U.S. Open, 256-222.

 For the third consecutive year, Liz Johnson of Deerfield, Illinois, was named Professional Women's Bowling Association Player of the Year, and the 2017 Rookie of the Year honor went to Poland's Daria Pajak.

When the Team USA women put their team title on the line at the 2017 World Bowling World Championships, they'll do so on their home soil and with five of the six gold medalists returning.

The event is scheduled for Nov. 24-Dec. 4 at the South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas.
