2018-19 Season Has Started

Mesa - - - This is our favorite time of the year. Attended two league meetings last Monday. This is the new Scratch Match Point League at Brunswick Mesa on August 27. The league ended up with 12 teams. It replaced the AZ Draft Classic League in the East Valley. Congrats to Craig Spencer and Daniel Scott for getting it on the floor.

Pony League News From Brunswick Zone Glendale

Daid Hurley also rolled the high series of the evening, a 763, snapping off teammate Mike Barcus 762, Jason Van Bodegon 740, and Andy Hakiel 729. Jacque Smith rolled the high series of the evening for the ladies with a solid 707 set. Three weeks into the season, Van Bodegon's (Joel Lee, Phil Krisher, Cody Martin, Robert Carpino and Jason Van Bodegon) are at the top of the standing sheet with a 22-2 record, followed by a trio of teams at 20-4: #ThePinkLoanGuy, Union Retirement Solutions, and D.C. Remodeling. Pony League Bowlers averaged 191 per game per bowler for the evening, raising the league average to 189 for the first three weeks.

Pony League Singles, Week 2 of 34, 9/3/2018: Still early in the first quarter, our division leaders are Jason Van Bodegon, Steve Anderson and Leon W. Sabelka, Tom Klein, Jacqueline Smith, Les Freeman, and Scot Piercy.

The first week of the Pony League Optional Singles is now in the books. 82 of our 180 bowlers are participating in singles this season: Our largest optional singles league ever. We had 72 out of 200 bowlers participating in singles in the 2017-2018 season. We have six divisions this season: 14 bowlers in five of the divisions and 12 bowlers in the highest average division. The division breakdowns are (1) 223 and over, (2) 212 to 222, (3) 205 to 211, (4) 196 to 204, (5) 188 to 195, and (6) 187 and under. Divisions and standings after week 1 are linked here. Who is your opponent next week? The easiest method is to look at the "virtual lane number" beside your name in the standings. Then look for the matching lane for your virtual pair of lanes. Example: You are scheduled to bowl on virtual lane 12. Your opponent will be who is scheduled on virtual lane 11. You also have a team number that will stay with you throughout the first quarter. You can look up your team number on the schedule that is listed for the next three weeks and see what team number you are scheduled to bowl against each week. The number next to your opponent's name is their actual team number in the 5-person team Pony league. You can look up that team number on the Pony League standings to determine where your opponent is actually bowling if you want to check on their scores. Seems complicated but once you've bowled in the singles league for awhile, you'll get the hang of it!
