Shawna Treat Delivers In A Big Way In MMA 63rd Annual Women's Tournament.
Chandler - - On any given tournament weekend in Arizona. Shawna Treat of Gilbert, AZ., feels like in order to beat the best the field has to offer, she has to be at her best on the lanes. And on Saturday March 30, she backed that up with a huge exclimation point. During the 1:30 pm doubles and singles squad of the 63rd annual MMA Women's Tournament. The right-hander proceeded to rolll a 714 in doubles and a 707 in singles on lanes 13 and 14 at Bowlero Kyrene Lanes.
During the six game block she rolled games of: 215, 256, 243, 238, 236, and 233 for a total pin fall of 1,421. And averaged 236 for the set.
The last time she had a career day came during the 2015 Arizona State Women's Championship where she rolled a 792 series, and won the Division A singles title at Brunswick Zone Mesa.
"When I won the AZ State singles title in 2015, I was not feeling well at the time, but I pushed through it," she said, of the last time she had a career day. "But today, I felt great and it was really amazing being out on the lanes."
She is no stranger when it comes to winning titles either.
In previous MMA events she has:

Pony League Bowls On Monday Night At Brunswick Zone Glendale
Pony League Sponsored by Revolutions Pro Shops, Fourth Quarter Week 5 of 9, 4/1/2019: Two scheduled weeks followed by two position rounds, followed by the individual sweeper and championship playoffs remain. Congratulations to Joey Burruel for his 300 game in the third game last night. It's great to end the night stringing 12 strikes! Other high games: Tim Burg's 279, Vince Murphy's 279 and Michael Marranca's 278. Cliff Adam's 754 series topped the high series leader board followed by Shawn Kozak(740), Vince Murphy (718) and John Babbitt (718). Christine Powell's 246 game was the high game for the ladies followed by Mandy Etem (237), Jacqueline Smith (237) and Barbara Wilson (223). Mandy Etem's 697 series was high for the ladies followed by Jacque Smith (660), Christine Powell (608) and Barb Wilson (601). Pony League Bowlers averaged 196 per game for the evening with the season to date average just under 196 per game per bowler.
The Raisins lead the fourth quarter standings with a 31-9 won-loss record, followed by Gray Matter at 30-10, Virtue Bowling Supply at 29-11, and three teams at 28-12.
Note that I'm looking into an inconsistency between my records and the bowling center's records for one bowlers average that could change Virtue Bowling Supply's record to 30-10 based on a one pin handicap difference that could change a tied game to a win for Virtue Bowling Supply. I'll look into this on Tuesday and should have this cleared up on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Pony Singles 4th Quarter Week 5 of 9, 4/1/2019: Four weeks remain in fourth quarter singles competition. Jason Van Bodegon and Dylan Taylorshare the lead of the 219 and over division with 28-12 won-lost records. Greg LaPointe (30-10) leads the 210 to 218 division with Chuck Stration(26-14) close behind. In the 203 to 209 division Cliff Adams (30-10) has a four point lead over Sean Beck (26-14) and Tom Kane (26-14). Jim Bungard (30-10) is two points ahead of Don Fisher (28-12) and Nick Pluhowsky (28-12) in the 195 to 202 division. Lee Spiva (32-8) has a one point lead over John Lesner (31-9) in the 183 to 194 division. The 182 and under division is led by John Spinck (32-8), two points ahead of Terry Piercy (30-10) and Chuck Morgan (30-10).

Brian Schamber wins $1,000 at AMF Chandler Lanes! - SFT News Courtesy Of The Sft.
Our event this weekend was at AMF Chandler Lanes. There was a total of 106 entries (70 Qualifying Entries & 36 Economy Parlay) with 27 prize winners, and a 1 in 3.9 cash ratio, paying out just over $4,100.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 48ft Eifel Tower oil pattern. The scoring pace for the pattern was medium to high, with the inside part of the lane seeming to be the area where bowlers were able to score the most. Those playing the outside part of the lane found it very unforgiving.
We want to welcome Anthony Cady, Mark Hoerner, Mark Taylor, Joshua Leavitt, and Molly Wietzel to the SFT AHT family! We hope you guys all had a good time in your first SFT AHT event. Congrats to Josh Black on being this weekend's only parlay power player! He was able to turn his $25 parlay investment into a spot in the semi-finals and a nice $190.00 prize! Congrats to Dishawn Byrd for winning Momma's Mystery Pot, with a score of 151, for $20.00!!! Also, congrats to David Corcino for winning the drawing for a free plastic ball, with an option to upgrade to any high-performance Track bowling ball for $85.00!
The quarterfinals were played on a fresh oil pattern. The higher score pace remained. The A Division had #1 seed Greg Thompson Jr. (+197) taking on #2 seed Jonathan Ferrell (+117), the B Division would see Brian Schamber (+99) facing off against Josh Black (+49) and the C Division would feature David Corcino (+117) taking on Logan Spencer (+115). The A and C divisions were very close matches. Greg was able to hold off Jonathan to come away with a very close 3-pin win. The C division match would come down to the 10th frame, where both players suffered open frames. David was able to hold on and get the win. In the B division, Brian continued his good bowling winning his semi-finals match by over 60 pins.
The Final match would feature two players, Greg Thompson Jr. and Brian Schamber, who had both bowled in the USBC Masters tournament in Las Vegas this past week. Needless to say that the tough USBC Masters oil pattern helped get these guys sharp for this tournament. Just like the other finalist, David Corcino, all three bowlers were seeking their first ever AHT Strike Force Tour Title and $1,000.00!
The Final match was exciting as could be with all three bowlers bowling very well through the entire match. The match would finally be decided in the 10th frame. David needed to strikeout to put the pressure back onto his competitors, but the oil pattern was a little unforgiving in the area where David was playing, and he was unable to apply that pressure. He would finish his great day of bowling with a score of 246. Brian would get up and throw a clutch double in the 10th, for a score of 256, forcing Greg to double for the win. Greg would get up and hit the pocket a little light, leaving a two pin, giving Brian his first SFT AHT title and $1,000!!! Congrats to Greg and David as they both tied to split second/third place!
Thank you to everyone that came out to support our event! We look forward to seeing you all next Sunday, April 7th, at Brunswick Zone Kyrene for our next tournament! Hope you all have a great week!
