Phoenix's Di Tormanen To Recieve USBC Youth Award - Courtesy Of Metro Phoenix USBC.
Phoenix - - - Metro Phoenix USBC would like to congratulate Di Tormanen for being named 2022 David Dahms Coach of the Year. This prestigious award is named in honor of David Dahms, who was an instrumental leader in the creation of what is now known as the USBC Junior Gold program.
The award annually recognizes a USBC certified coach who has been actively involved in a USBC Youth program and has demonstrated outstanding commitment to coaching, sportsmanship and knowledge of USBC Youth rules for the last seven or more years.
Di started coaching back in 1977 at Glenfair Lanes and is still today coaching youth! She has been President of Metro Phoenix and Association Manager, which she recently retired from. She is a USBC Silver Certified Coach and her list of accomplishments run deep.

Tucson - - - Tucson Metro USBC 43rd Annual Masters Tournament: The last tournament on the 2021-22 season schedule for Tucson Metro USBC, is the 43rd Annual Masters Tournament, took place March 19-20 at Tucson Bowl.
This year’s Master’s had fifty entrants, who bowled in two qualifying squads Saturday, March 19. The field was cut to the top sixteen, including last year’s defending champion, James Kraykovich. The pattern was “Highway to Hell Version 2,” and the top qualifier of the five game format, was Keith Dommer at +37.
Sunday, March 20, was the double elimination finals. Here were your top four finishers for the 43rd Annual Tucson Metro USBC Masters Championships: 1) Tom Foster. 2) Timothy Jacob. 3) Bryan Van Sickle. 4) Keith Dommer.
Your Tucson Metro USBC Board wants to congratulate Tom on his win, and Tim, Bryan and Keith on their bowling and top four finish. Congratulations to the other finalists on their bowling and efforts. Checks were handed out at the tournament. We also wish to thank our sponsors, Todd Wacks at Park Avenue Jewelers and Linda Wallace at The Zen of Bowling.

A big congratulations to Matt Hunt, who just bowled a 300 game, in the Arizona Army National Guard League at Cactus Bowl on March 22. This was Matt's 13th career 300, second one in the league this season and second in two months! Great job Matt!

On March 23, Gloria Kaylor Harris, your Tucson Metro USBC Board Member presented Jacob Smith his 11 In A Row Mug for his 299 bowled in the RTS Men's League at Bowlero.
On March 26, your Tucson Metro USBC Board Members, Kari Snyder, Terry Snyder, Lyn Peterson and yours truly were present for the Cactus Junior Bowling Program to celebrate their successful season and in tournaments. I had the privilege of presenting Ian Holzwarth his third place trophy from the Pepsi State Tournament that was recently held. Congratulations to Coach Matt Hunt, who oversees the program and all the other coaches who give their time to the future of our sport, the young bowlers. I also want to thank the parents and grandparents for their support and encouragement of the youth.
On March 26, Svet Vukomanovich held his monthly King of the Hill Tournament at Bowlero in Tucson. Bowlers from across the state have turned out to take part in the tournament which is also sponsored by Texas Roadhouse. Shawn Whitelaw won the tournament and bowled a 300 game in qualifying. Thank you Svet for your success and tournaments he holds, for the bowlers. Mark your calendars for the next King of the Hill for April 23, at Bowlero in Tucson.
