AZ Masters And Queens Event To Take Place at SRB also.
Prescott - - - Shake, Rattle, and Bowl. Will also host the AZ State USBC Masters and Queens event on August 29-31, 2025.
AZ State USBC has added an extra bonus for the Masters and Queens champion, as each will receive a paid entry into the 2026 masters and queens event.
Qualifying squads are as follows: Friday August 29, @ 6:00 pm.
Saturday August 30, at 9:00 am, and 2:00 pm.
Finals will begin on Sunday August 31 @ 10:00 am.
Only 54 spots are available for each qualifying squad. And bowlers can only register for one qualifying squad. On line registration closes on August 27. Entry fee is $125.

TUCSON METRO USBC RELEASES SCHEDULE FOR BOWLING EVENTS FOR 25-26 SEASON; NEW 11-IN-A ROW CHALLENGE COIN AWARD CREATED

TUCSON - Tucson Metro USBC released their schedule of tournaments and bowling events for the upcoming 2025-26 bowling season and looks forward to sanctioned bowlers from Tucson, Pima County, Southern Arizona and the rest of the state taking part again.
Tucson Metro’s season begins Sunday, September 14, with the Welcome Back Tournament at PINZ Fiesta. This will be a special event, welcoming back Tucson’s fifth bowling center, as well as Tucson’s sanctioned bowlers.
On September 20-21, is Pay It Forward Weekend at Bowlero Tucson, the tournament and fund raising effort for Tucson’s youth bowling programs organized by Cory Knop of Ready to Strike Pro Shop and his committee. On Sunday, September 21, Tucson Metro USBC will be holding a special Youth Tournament at Bowlero in conjunction.
Tucson Metro USBC will be running the 63rd Annual Senior Open and the 46th Annual Senior Women’s Championships will be run concurrently again this season and will be taking place at Tucson Bowl. The concurrent effort resulted in an increase of entrants to both tournaments, especially the Senior Women’s Championships, which had a 58% increase in bowlers and teams.
Bowlero Tucson will be the host center for the 82nd Annual Tucson Metro USBC Open Championships as well as the 76th Annual Women’s Championship Tournament, which will also be conducted concurrently. Last year showed an increase in both tournaments of participants and teams.
Tucson Metro USBC will again be holding the Bowler’s for Veterans Link In House league tournament November 8-22 in all five bowling centers in Tucson.
Sunday, November 2, Bowl over Cancer Arizona will take place at Bowlero Tucson, for more information, go online to https://www.bowlovercanceraz.com/.
Also included are the dates and locations (subject to change) for the Tucson Youth bowling tournaments. More information to follow in future articles.
On Saturday and Sunday, December 6-7 at Cactus Bowl, Tucson Metro USBC will be hosting a new Junior Masters Tournament, details to be announced in a future article.

Tucson Metro USBC is changing the 11-In-A-Row Mug Award. Due to rising production costs, Tucson Metro USBC is in the process of having a 11-In-A-Row Challenge Coin created to be awarded. In addition, with the new 11-In-A-Row Challenge Coin, the rule is being changed that bowlers could get a Challenge Coin once a season, instead of once a lifetime. More to follow on this.

We had a few lane issues and your patience was very much appreciated. Regardless of the lane issues we also had some pretty high scores put up.
19 teams made cashing rounds. We paid out $4640 in prize money, and $2468 in side pots
We raised $160 for Mesa Strikers Youth
Our 300 pot was won by Kyle Passey and Justin Thompson
The 12 strike pot was not won and remains capped at $2000
11 strikes was hit by two teams, Craig Newcomb/Chad Summers & Thomas Engseth/Amanda Howard, splitting the $448.
370 Division:
- Finals came down to Amanda Howard/Thomas Engseth vs Miles Austin/Max Hernandez. Austin & Hernandez pulled off the win 160-149
- High Games paid out $64 to each team: Passey/Coppola 244, Hamilton/Sells 236, Austin/Hernandez 253, Boom/Mansfield 278, Rath/Locke 255 and Chandler/Duty 268

430 Division:
- Finals were James Roethel/Mike Umstead vs Robbie Patterson/Ryan Feber with Ryan & Robbie taking the win in a nail biter finish 258-248

Urethane Bowling Ball Survey Results Are In
More than 20,000 members and participants shared their feedback on urethane bowling balls in USBC-certified competition. The survey was conducted in phases across social media and email to segment responses by audience.
Key insights:
• 57% of respondents favored some form of change — including a full ban, tighter specs, or restrictions in USBC national events only.
• 39% supported no changes.
• Feedback was consistent across both public and tournament groups.
