Pony League News - Courtesy Of Pony League Bowlero Glendale.

Glendale - - - The Pony League now has 35 teams. We would like to add a 36th team at the beginning of the 3rd quarter (January 6, 2020). We're looking for a five bowler team (any mix of male and/or female bowlers to compete and enjoy the last two quarters, 18 weeks, playoffs and individual handicap sweeper of our 2019-2020 season. We are also able to add bowlers to our optional singles league-within-the-league competition at the beginning of the third quarter. Our prize fund payouts in both team and singles competition are based on place each quarter. There is no impact on a new team of bowlers' opportunities for the upcoming second half of our season. Reply to this post for additional information. Also, the Pony League public group on Facebook contains additional information as well as files including rules, prize fund, current standings and league history. Cost of bowling is $25 per week ($5 per week for optional singles competition). Pony League bowlers are competing for over $85,000 in prize money this season. We have a well-supported 50/50 each week that routinely pays out $150 to $200 each week (two drawings of $75 to $100 each; more drawings at the end of each quarter when our title sponsor, Revolutions Pro Shops, adds a $150 gift certificate to the end-of-quarter 50/50).The Pony League bowls each Monday evening with practice beginning at 6:15 pm at Bowlero Glendale (formerly Brunswick Mission Bell Lanes and Brunswick Zone Glendale) 59th Avenue just north of Bell Road

The Pony League optional singles league is looking for a bowler to replace one of our league members who is moving out of state. Preferred average is in the range of 176 to 187 but we can adjust other divisions prior to the beginning of the third quarter, if necessary. Cost is $5 per week for the remaining 17 weeks of singles ($85 total for the remainder of the season). Due to our quarterly structure, there is no disadvantage to coming in at the midway point of the season. Respond to this message if you would like to take this spot for the third and fourth quarters.

Pony League, Sponsored by Revolutions Pro Shops, Summary after Week 18 of 36 (Second Quarter Week 9 of 9), December 30, 2019: Congratulations to the Pony League's 2019-2020 second quarter champions, Gonna Out 60 ft Ya - Stuart Porter, Chris Nardone, Amber Clark, Bob Clark and Robert J. Clark III. Gonna Out 60 ft Ya came into the end of quarter position round with a 52-12 record; six points behind Glory Bowl (58-6), Dylan Taylor, Nick Pluhowsky, Marty Blickenstaff, Ryan Riley, Wes Marema and super sixth member David Hurley). Glory Bowl had lost only three games in the first eight weeks of the second quarter while Gonna Out 60 ft Ya was not far behind with only six games lost in eight weeks. Glory Bowl needed to win one game outright to claim the quarterly title while a tie in one game would have resulted in a one game roll-off for the title. Robert Clark III led the way for underdogs by rolling a 300 game followed by a 264 game to begin the evening, striking in 19 consecutive frames. In the end, all five bowlers on the Gonna Out 60 ft Ya team were above average for the evening, winning the first two games going away but falling behind Glory Bowl early in the third game. I was fortunate in being able to bowl alongside the title match and was able to witness, first-hand the electricity and emotion displayed by all bowlers involved in the title match. With the talent and recent domination of the Glory Bowl five, I would have bet the farm on Glory Bowl to earn the title this quarter. But, in the end, the Gonna Out 60 ft Ya five displayed the moxy, grit and skill needed to wrest the title away from Glory Bowl. Gonna Out 60 ft Ya ended the quarter with a 60-12 record, matching the Jackwagons 60-12 record needed to win the first quarter and coming out two points ahead of Glory Bowl, 58-14, in earning second place for the quarter. The Anger Sharks (Johnny Chi, Larry Eng, Scott Orenstein, Cliff Adams and Shad Schoenemann) jumped the third and fourth place teams to earn third place for the quarter at 54-18. Jomama (Willis Hartford, Jim Keister, Lou Reineke, Jared Johannsen and Jimmy Diaz) moved up to fourth place at 52-20 while Old Man Club (Mark Cunningham, Jim Bungard, Randy Norton, Leon Sabelka and Tom Frigon, 50-22) dropped to fifth place for the quarter.

Congratulations to Robert Clark for rolling a 300 game, the fifth in the Pony League this season. John Conaway and Shad Schoenemann each came up a pin short at 299, followed by Dylan Taylor and Jared Johannsen; both with 279 games. Robert Clark III and Shad Schoenemann tied for high series of the evening at 769, followed by Myke White's 732 and Scott Karn's 721. Nicole Smyth's 267 game was high for the night for the ladies, followed by Juli Bayer 244, Alison Kozak 240, Karen Rehbock 235 and Tracie Roberts 235. Juli Bayer's 680 series was high for the ladies, followed by Alison Kozak 620, Tracie Roberts 616 and Jacqueline Smith 614. Pony League bowlers averaged 190 per game for the evening with the season-to-date average remaining at 188 per game per bowler.
