Van Sickle Wins First 'Cut The Field' Event At Tucson Bowl
Tucson - - - Congratulations to Bryan Van Sickle (pictured left) for winning the 1st Pro Bowl Sunday (Cut the Field) Handicap Tournament on Sunday January 26th, 2020, at Tucson Bowl, 7020 E 21st Street. We had a great turnout, 29 entries, I thank everyone for bowling this event. Thank you to our Tournament Director, Josh Quesnel for running the tournament.
King Of The Hill At Tucson Bowl.
Tucson - - - We had a great start to the Winter/Spring 2020 Points Race Season for the King of the Hill Tournament at Tucson Bowl, 7020 E 21st Street. Event #1 of 6 brought in 25 entries and we paid out $860 from the prize fund, as well as additional payouts from the optional High Game and Brackets. Congratulations to John Cook, for winning the high scoring tournament, on the Kegel Chromium pattern. The next KotH Tournament at Tucson Bowl will be Sunday, February 9th, 2020. GCU Women Win Rebel Classic In Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, NV. - - - Congrats to our Women's Team on their win at the Rebel Classic! They qualified 2nd and won two matches to take home the title! The Men qualified 1st, but lost to UNLV in the semifinals of the bracket. Our JV teams battled head to head and then fell short against our Varsity squad. Glendale - - - Pony League Singles Week 21 of 34 (Third Quarter Week 4 of 8), 1/27/2020: A month into and halfway through the third quarter, Shawn Kozak, Steve Roberts and Jason Van Bodegon share the lead in the 215 and over division with 24 points won and 8 points lost. There is also a 3-way tie for the lead in the 208 to 214 division between Larry Spitali, Carey Lee Hofmann and Mike Pyeatt at 22-10. Don Tistle has opened a five point lead in the 201 to 207 division with a 27-5 record, followed by Myke White, 22-10 and Brian Todd Vangordon, 22-10. Gary Kresse and Cliff Adams are co-leaders of the 196 to 200 division at 22-10 followed by Leon W. Sabelka and Jeff Lawson, both at 19-13. Rich Strowman has opened a nine point lead in the 188 to 195 division at 29-3, followed by Tony Cabrales and Jacqueline Smith, both at 20-12. The 176 to 187 division is led by Alison Super-Kozak at 26-6, followed by Stuart Porter at 22-10 and Chuck Morgan at 21-11. Mike Terpening and Jeffrey Stone share the lead of the 175 and under division at 26-6, followed by Dave Ball at 24-8.

National Pattern Trios League.
Sun City - - - Beginning work on our second summer season for the National Pattern Trios league at Lakeview Lanes in Sun City: Mondays, 6:20 pm practice, bowl four games beginning at 6:30 pm and ending at approximately 8:30 pm to 8:45 pm. This will provide for an increased prize fund. Lakeview Lanes management is providing us the opportunity to use all 24 lanes this season. The league is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 11 and end after 13 weeks of competition on Monday, August 3. No average cap but each team must have at least one bowler who is at least 50 years of age as of May 11, 2020.
