Williams Adds Perfect Game To Resume At The OC. Courtesy Of Bowl.Com. July 10, 2024.

LAS VEGAS – Tina Williams of Pflugerville, Texas. Formerly of Phoenix. Has created a new entry in the record books for both the United States Bowling Congress Open and the USBC Women's Open Championships after her performance Tuesday at the South Point Bowling Plaza.

She is the first competitor to record a perfect game at each national tournament after starting her doubles set at the 2024 USBC Open Championships with 300 on the way to a 750 series (300-227-223).

Williams had her perfect game at the Women’s Championships during doubles at the 2021 event in Reno, Nevada. She finished that trip her highest all-events total through 19 trips to the tournament (2,195) and posted four finishes in the top 15, including a fifth-place effort in Diamond All-Events.

The 43-year-old right-hander followed suit with her performance this week at the Open Championships, recording her top all-events score through 16 appearances with 2,048. She added 718 in singles and 580 in team.

The former Team USA member and three-time National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association All-American at West Texas A&M also made the appearance one to remember by joining her husband – two-time Professional Bowlers Association Tour champion Stu Williams – with a 300 this year at the Open Championships.

Stu rolled his 300 on May 10 during his second game of singles for an 805 series (currently third in Regular Singles). The performance helped him into second place in Regular All-Events with 2,245, and he’s currently fourth in Regular Doubles with David Bartlett of Bloomington, Illinois (1,476).

Virtue Bowling Supply Announces Store Manager For Cactus Bowl - Courtesy Of Virtue Bowling Supply.

Tucson - - - We are thrilled to announce that Gabe Stropka is joining our team as the store manager for our new Cactus Bowl location in Tucson!

After two rounds of interviews, Gabe was our top pick out 10+ great applicants! The reason we choose Gabe over the other applicants, was because he reflects the two key traits we have found to be most predictive of success: a genuine passion for bowling and the intangibles for an unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service. At Virtue Bowling Supply, we believe that these qualities are the foundation of success in our industry, even if the person doesn't have experience yet drilling bowling balls.

Over the past 10+ years, we have trained and worked with over 50 individuals, some with past experience drilling and others who do not. We've consistently found that those who excel have a deep love for bowling and a natural inclination to serve our customers with care and dedication. Gabe embodies these traits, and we are confident that his enthusiasm and customer-focused approach will quickly translate into technical proficiency after he undergoes our store manager training process.

We are excited for Gabe to bring his energy and dedication to the Cactus Bowl location, and we know he will thrive with the support of our experienced team and loyal customers. We will be setting up that location this month, hope to be soft opened by August, and will announce a grand opening event sometime in August! Please join us in welcoming Gabe to the Virtue Bowling Supply family!
