President Thanks Tucson Metro Bowlers For A Good Year. Courtesy Of Mark Kerr.

Tucson - - - As I finish my second year as your Tucson Metro USBC President, I am proud to say that your Tucson Metro USBC Board built on its first year and accomplished even more during this past season!

Hard work, commitment and determination resulted in a schedule of tournaments which saw an increase of sanctioned bowlers, from Tucson and across Arizona taking part in the scheduled events held in the 22-23 season, including the Welcome Back Sweeper Tournament and the BVL League Tournament.

As your President, I want to thank you all for your support of Tucson Metro USBC with your participation in the tournaments: Senior Women’s, Senior Open Championships, Women’s

Open Championships, the Open Championship, as well as the Senior Masters and Senior Queens Sweeper, Senior Masters and first ever Senior Queens Championship, Open Masters and Queens Sweeper and the Open Masters Championship, and for the first time since 2016, the Tucson Metro USBC Queens Tournament!. In addition to the Tucson Metro USBC Queens Tournament and Senior Queens Tournament, two more events were the Welcome Back Sweeper Tournament and the BVL (Bowlers for Veterans Link) League Tournament, which also raised funds for BVL.

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone who participated in all the tournaments, purchasing 50/50 tickets to help raise funds for the junior bowling programs in Tucson.

Your Tucson Metro USBC Board wants to thank the Management and Staff at the Vantage Bowling Centers, as well as the Management and Staff at Bowlero. Without you, we wouldn’t have the tournaments and we are grateful to work together this season and look forward to future years and events. We also want to thank Arizona State USBC and Herb Grassl with Desert Bowler for their work with us during this past season.

I also want to thank the Tucson Metro USBC Board Members for their work.

I also want to give special thanks to Steve Harris, our Association Manager and newest member of the Tucson Metro USBC Hall of Fame who helped this new Board during this season so much and was so instrumental for its success.

In addition to Steve Harris, two bowlers, Mike Tountas and Steven Hiscox were inducted as well for Superior Performance, as part of the Tucson Metro USBC Hall of Fame, Class of 2023.

The increase in bowlers was also not limited to tournaments but the leagues that took the floor for this past season, increasing over 2021-22!

Your Tucson Metro USBC Board thanks you for your support and showing that “Bowling is Back!”

It has been a great year for your Tucson Metro USBC Board and we are looking forward to the 2023-24 season. Your Tucson Metro USBC Board is here for you, the bowler. We have learned, laughed and look forward to the tournaments and making bowling a great experience.

Congrats! Gary Roff. On Your First 300 Game. From Gary Roff.

I've been bowling now for 32.5 years and I finally shot my first ever 300 game. There are way too many people to thank, but at the top of the list are as follows:

1. My wife Samantha, step-kids Joseph and Tabbi, in-laws Terry and Sharyn Hulke and my son Russell for all their support over the years.

2. My best friend and 2nd family growing up that got me into bowling, Mark Cunningham, Marie Cunningham, Brian McBri and the late Paul Cunningham.

3. The staff at Bowling Dynamics, Dave Cirigliano and Radical Bowling for providing and drilling the Radical Crypto used for the 300 game.

4. My mom, Jeanne Roff, who has always been behind me every step of rhe way.

5. My best Arizona friend, Steve Wilson, for all his support and encouragement leading up to this point.

6. Brad Angelo and BowlU International for giving me another way to experience my bowling.

Last, but not least, all the friends that I've made over the last 32 years bowling that have helped, pushed, teased and given me the drive to hit this mark.

Thank you all!! Gary out!!!
