*A Note Of Thanks From Cortez Schenck From The Bowlero Mesa Open.
Mesa- - - I was fortunate to win the Bowlero Mesa Open Regional this past weekend! Thank you to Gary and Toni for running the event and the crew at Bowlero Mesa for giving us a venue to compete in. Thanks to Theo for running another CBE the day after, I wasn’t quite able to capture the W that day but still was able to grind for a cash. Thank you to B3 Performance for the continued help and support; the training facility has really allowed me to work on my game and add some new tricks to my arsenal. I couldn’t have done it without the tools and knowledge they have to offer. #B3performance

Chuck Lucas wins title #2 at Bowlero Via Linda!!! SFT News Courtesy OF SFT.
Scottsdale - - - Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Via Linda and we had a nice turnout considering all the events going on this weekend. We had a PBA regional, JBT and the CBE tournaments also going on, but we're thankful for everyone that came out to support our 2 squad event. We had 74 total entries (44 qualifying and 30 parlays), 20 cashers, 1 in 3.7 cash ratio and paid out over $3,700.00 in main and side event prize funds! The players bowled on a 40ft Athens pattern that was very misleading. Many of the bowlers would think they had it figured out and then the lanes would change quickly. Because the pattern wasn't very long or very short, it allowed players to attack it from all angles. We had straighter players do well and players that like to cover more boards and curve it more. We saw some higher scores than the grind fest of last weekend's major.
We would like to welcome Justin Fetters, Rich Prince, Kevin Arnett, Robyn Holman and Jonathan Jackson to the SFT family. I hope that you all had a good time and hope to see you again. We also had some Parlay Power Players in Scott Sparks and Steve Convirs! They both made it to the quarterfinals off of their $25 Economy Parlay entry! We also want to congratulate Scott Sparks and Eric Schade for making their first quarterfinals in a while. Your winner of the free plastic ball raffle, with an option to upgrade to any Track high performance ball for $85.00, was Josh Hancock.
Since this event was only 2 squads, there was no re-oil before the quarterfinals. This resulted in some medium to high scores with the standings being very tight and Division leaders being determined by the final game of the quarterfinals. Since there were only 5 bowlers per Division, we would cut down to the top bowler in each Division and move straight into the Final match. Your leaders were Sean Ashley (+131) in the A Division, Jason Tunay (+63) in the B Division and Chuck Lucas (+78) in the C Division.
The Final match was see all three finalists looking to add to their AHT SFT title count. Your favorite would have to be Sean Ashley as your reigning Player of the Year. Currently Sean is leading the Player of the Year race again and is looking to repeat. Jason Tunay already has two titles and is looking to add his 3rd. Chuck Lucas is looking to break through for an additional title. Chuck a dark horse to make the Finals since he had already bowled 6 games in the CBE tournament this morning plus the 6 games in the qualifying and quarterfinals. We were all amazed with how he was still ready to compete after all those games.
The Final match would see Chuck Lucas and Sean Ashley come out firing with each throwing strikes through the first half of the match. Jason would struggle to get lined up and would put himself in a hole that he couldn't dig himself out. Sean would open in the seventh and Chuck would take advantage by striking and never looking back to win his 2nd title and $700.00 with a nice 261 game. Sean would come in 2nd with a 228 and Jason would finish at 183 for 3rd place.
Thanks to everyone that came out this weekend to make this such a successful event! We look forward to seeing you all in two weeks at our next event on Sunday, September 27th at Bowlero Kyrene!
