The first three weeks of the 2018-2019 Pony League are now in the books. Our league is 36 teams strong this season: The sixth consecutive year with 36 or more teams. A big welcome to all the bowlers new to the Pony League and veterans of the Pony League alike. 
Three weeks into the season, Van Bodegon's (Joel Lee, Phil Krisher, Cody Martin, Robert Carpino and Jason Van Bodegon) are at the top of the standing sheet with a 22-2 record, followed by a trio of teams at 20-4: #ThePinkLoanGuy (Bruce Kannard, Rich Dziurzynski, Tom Klein, Rich Strowman and Andy Hakiel), Union Retirement Solutions (John Busalacchi, Jeff Skidmore, Jeff White, Kelly Busalacchi and Steve Busalacchi), and D.C. Remodeling (Dylan Taylor, Henry Diflorio, Nick Pluhowsky, Mike Barcus and Wes Marema). 
David Hurley rolled the only 300 game in the league so far. The rest of the high game leader board includes Carey Hofmann 282, John Babbitt 280, and a half dozen 279s rolled by Price McElroy, Andy Hakiel, Jason Van Bodegon, Bob Clark, Scot Piercy and Robert Clark III. Tina Williams is atop the ladies high game leader board with a 279, followed by Jacque Smith 245, Alison Kozak 245 and Shirley Braverman 244. 
David Hurley's 763 series is high for the season followed by Mike Barcus 762, Jason Van Bodegon 748, Andy Hakiel 747 and Stu Williams 733. Jacque Smith's 707 series is high for the ladies followed by Alison Kozak 681, Tina Williams 663, Shirley Braverman 648 and Chris Gonos 648. 
82 of our bowlers are participating in the optional singles league-within-the-league this season: Our largest singles league ever. We have six singles divisions this season with 14 bowlers in five of the divisions and 12 bowlers in the highest average division. The division breakdowns are 223 and over, 212 to 222, 205 to 211, 196 to 204, 188 to 195, and 187 and under. Still early in the first quarter, our division leaders are Jason Van Bodegon, Steve Anderson and Leon Sabelka, Tom Klein, Jacque Smith, Les Freeman, and Scot Piercy. 
Pony League standings are posted each Monday night on the LeagueSecretary.com website. Team competition is posted under League ID # 350 while Singles competition is posted under League ID # 53218. The Pony League also maintains a Facebook group page: Pony League, where links to standings, messages, league rules, schedules, prize funds, etc. are maintained for our bowlers' use and information.

 1st Quarter Week 4 of 8, 9/17/2018: Halfway through first quarter singles, our division leaders are Jason Van Bodegon, Steve Anderson, a 4-way tie between Dwayne Brooks, Tom Klein, Carey Lee Hofmann and Shirley Braverman, a 2-way tie between Chuck Stration and Jake Evins, Les Freeman and a 2-way tie between Mike Terpening and John Busalacchi. Note there is one post-bowl remaining from week 3 that affecting the Stuart Porter/Jeff Stone match. The post-bowl is scheduled for this coming Wednesday. I plan to update singles (and team) standings on Thursday or Friday. Stay tuned... :) 

 

Pony League Sponsored by Revolutions Pro Shop, First Quarter Week 5 of 9 results, 9/17/2018: Congratulations to Mike Barcus who started with the first 22 strikes in a row, rolling a 300-288-200---788 series; the second 300 game in the Pony League this season, Mike's 10th sanctioned 300 game, and the league high series to date. Next on the high game list for the evening; three 279s rolled by Jason Van Bodegon, Theo Douthit and Joey Burruel. The rest of the high series leader board included Jason Van Bodegon's 753, Theo Douthit's 738 and Stu Williams' 717. Juli Bayer rolled the high game and high series for the ladies with a 257 game and a 704 series. The ladies leader board also included Tina Williams' 235, Alison Kozak's 229 and Chris Gonos' 227. The ladies series leader board also included Tina Williams' 622, Chris Gonos' 617 and Alison Kozak's 609. 
The New Standard (Dylan Taylor, Henry Diflorio, Nick Pluhowsky, Mike Barcus and Wes Marema) are atop the league standings with a 34-6 record followed by Van Bodegon's at 32-8 and a trio of teams at 30-10 (Far From Limpin', Union Retirement Solutions and Nite Train). Ramsey Auto (28-12) and Spare Club 4 Men (26-14) are the only other teams within a week's worth points of the leaders. Pony League bowlers averaged 192 for the evening: 5 pins below the league entering average. The league average season to date is 191. Gonna Out 60 Ft' Ya will be rolling their week 4 post-bowl this coming Wednesday evening which will affect their points and the points of their opponents last week: Zach Herda's Team. I should have the update posted after the post-bowl on Thursday or Friday evening.
