Picking Up The Spares - February 3, 2026

GCU Grinds It Out, At Sin City Open. And Rebel Classic In Las Vegas.

Las Vegas - - - The Lopes traveled to Las Vegas this past weekend, Jan 31, Feb 1, for our final full team trip of the season! Check out how they did below:

SIN CITY OPEN

The Varsity squad got out to a slow start during team games, but turned in on across the final stretch of 10 baker games. They nearly made up a 260 pin deficit, but fell just short (12 pins) in 2nd place.

The JV squads battled it out and JV2 came out on top! Paul O'Kain led the way with a top 10 finish for JV2 and Wesley Cunningham paced the JV1 squad finishing right behind Paul.

REBEL CLASSIC

The Varsity team continued their momentum from the end of the tournament on Friday and stormed to a 300 pin ranking point win across the two days of competition. Unfortunately, they were ousted in the title match against cross-town rivals ASU.

JV2 continued their torrid pace and led qualifying in their division and backed it up with a bracket win as well!

Individually, David Wiseley and Jovan Mercado earned spots on the All-Tournament Team, finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.

Big thanks to everyone who has supported us across another long and grueling collegiate season. We are grateful for the many ways in which we feel that love. Thanks to UNLV for hosting! #LopesUp
