Mesa Bowling Community Comes Out To Celebrate The Life Of Ron Huemiller Sr. Pictured is: Ron Huemiller Sr.
Mesa - - - The Mesa Metro bowling community came out in force on Monday December 16, 2019, to celebrate the life of Ron Huemiller Sr. Ron's recent passing has effected all of us who knew him, in one way or another.
Ron was inducted into the Mesa Metro Hall of Fame, for bowling ability in 2016. When it came to the game of bowling, it was always about us and never about him. He was always interested in how our individual game was going, and always willing to give us a lesson to help us figure things out. He also worked with the kids in the Mesa Strikers Youth Bowling League.
We were part of a Wednesday afternoon practice group at Bowlero Mesa that included us. Gary Syzmanski, his son-in-law Nathan Gentry, and Clarence Young. If Ron saw that we were doing something great in our practice sessions, he would say 'good job, keep it up'. In my case it was my footwork to the foul-line. That was one thing I never had to worry about.
One of the things we did during our practice sessions was bowl for quarters. It was because of those quarters and because of Ron's persistence that brought out the best in all of us, when we practiced together. If I lost a quarter, I didn't mind at all losing it to Ron or Gary.
Ron would not want us to dwell on his passing either. He would want us to keep the ball rolling, and keep getting better in this game.
Wednesday afternoons won't be the same anymore without Ron and Gary, being present. But, they both would be happy in knowing that we are keeping the ball rolling for them and trying to get better in bowling for them.
The service was at Bowlero Mesa. And delivered by Marcus Body, Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Chandler.

Pony League Hoping To Expand In The Second-Half Of The Season
Glendale - - - The Pony League now has 35 teams. We would like to add a 36th team at the beginning of the 3rd quarter (January 6, 2020) or sooner. We're looking for a five bowler team (any mix of male and/or female bowlers to compete and enjoy the last two quarters, 18 weeks, playoffs and individual handicap sweeper of our 2019-2020 season. We are also able to add bowlers to our optional singles league-within-the-league competition at the beginning of the third quarter. Our prize fund payouts in both team and singles competition are based on place each quarter. There is negligible negative impact on a new team of bowlers' opportunities for the upcoming second half of our season.
