Tucson Metro USBC Update

Tucson - - - Your Tucson Metro USBC Board met on Sunday, September 26 and worked on a revision of the Tucson Metro USBC current bylaws to be presented at a special meeting to take place.
Your Board also discussed the Tucson Metro USBC Senior Masters Tournament, October 9-10 at Tucson Bowl, as well as the upcoming Arizona State USBC Senior Women’s Tournament, October 2-3, at Cactus Bowl. Your Board is looking forward to working with Arizona State USBC on the Senior Women’s event, and the Senior Open Tournament, October 23-24 and 30-31, also taking place at Cactus Bowl.
Thanks to the partnership between Visit Tucson and your Tucson Metro USBC Board, the Arizona State USBC Senior Women’s Open and the Arizona State USBC Senior Open Tournaments have a host hotel, the Desert Diamond Casino Hotel. For more information, go online to azstateusbc.org.
The first bowling event on your Tucson Metro USBC schedule is the Senior Masters Tournament, which will take place October 9-10 at Tucson Bowl, 7020 East 21st Street.
There will be two qualifying squads of five games on Saturday, October 9 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The double elimination finals will take place Sunday, October 10, 10 a.m. The entry fee is $100 and the bowling pattern will be Krypton. September 18 was a great day for our bowling family. The First Annual “Pay it Forward” bowling tournament took place at Bowlero, and was a great success, 38 bowlers taking part to help our future for our sport, youth bowlers.
"I would like to thank all the sponsors that donated money and raffle items. Also, to all the bowlers that made donations and 50/50 fund raising," Knop said. "We were able to raise $3726.00, this means that Bowlero, Cactus, Fiesta, Lucky, Tucson and Junior Classics will receive $621 each!"
"Our thanks to everyone who made this event a success! Let’s do it again next year, bigger and better," he added.
Congratulations to Tournament Director James Kraykovich and Cory Knop, owner of Ready to Strike Pro Shop for organizing this fundraiser, the staff at Bowlero and the 38 participants. Trophies from Saguaro Trophy were handed out. The winners were the youth bowlers who benefit from the generosity of Tucson’s bowling family.
Thirty-six bowlers took part on September 25, in the King of the Hill Tournament at Bowlero. Congratulations to Svet Vukomanovich, Tournament Director on another successful event, which is sponsored by Texas Roadhouse and Phillips Eye Care. Thanks also go to Bobby, Manager at Bowlero and the staff for hosting the event. Congratulations to Bryan Van Sickle who won the event. On September 25, Lino Nava Jr., your Tucson Metro USBC Board Member presented Patrick Fischer his 11-In-A-Row for his bowling accomplishment in the SNL League at Fiesta Lanes. Congratulations Patrick!
The Senior Not Senior Tournament took place on Sunday, September 26. Thank you to the 23 bowlers who took part in this event which showcases the Krypton bowling pattern that will be used in the Tucson Metro USBC Senior Masters Tournament October 9-10 here at Tucson Bowl.

Zach Ramirez followed up his great bowling, including a 300 game and 795 series, in the Awesome Foursome League at Lucky Strike. Zach bowled 268-279-257 for an 804 series the following week!
