Cortez Schenck Wins First PBA West Regional - Story And Photo Courtesy Of PBA.
The region returned to Southern California this weekend for the 2022 Casino Morongo Open. A field of 72 players took to the lanes in 8 games of qualifying followed by the top 24 having 4 more games to reach our top 8 finalists.
In our semi final match, we saw the #4 seed Cortez Schenck take down the #1 seeded Jakob Butturff 2-1. In our other semi final match, the #2 seeded Darren Tang squeaked by our #3 seed Michael Fitzgerald 2-1.
Our championship match was bound to be a heavy weight fight as both players had great reaction on the fresh. Both players started with an early double, but in the end, Schenck rattled off a 9 bagger to close the match (254-224) and secure his first PBA Regional Title as a Member. While this wasn’t his first win regionally, this was his first event since the passing of his father a few months back. Schenck took the past few months off from competing to gather himself emotionally and physically. Congratulations Cortez on the first of many titles to come!!!

Phoenix - - - First time back at Bowlero Christown in five years and we had a great turnout on June 12, with 134 total entries (93 qualifying and 41 parlays)!
Congrats to Nick Tejada for parlaying his way to his 2nd SFT AHT title and turning his $30 parlay entry into $1,300!!! Also congrats to Jonathan Ferrell on 2nd place for $700 and also congrats to Logan Spencer on 3rd place & $400!

Wanted to give a shoutout to Svet Vukomanovich Bowlero had gone through major employee changes. Svet went the extra mile talked to the big wigs in corporate and solidified our event for this week and the future. This is the longest and now only event we have monthly. It couldn’t happen without him and i hope we can continue to make this event grow. Svet had a lot to bring to the table because Tucson bowlers keep representing.
