900 Series, A First In Texas

ARLINGTON, Texas - If you're at Copperfield Bowl in Houston on a Thursday night during the bowling season, you'll likely run into Sean Osbourn.
But, it was an unexpected guest appearance at the center Monday that yielded a record-setting performance for the 24-year-old right-hander, who became the 29th bowler to roll three consecutive 300 games for a 900 series in United States Bowling Congress-certified competition.

LAS VEGAS – Canada’s Francois Lavoie put together a historic performance on his way to winning the 2016 U.S. Open at the South Point Bowling Plaza on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old right-hander defeated top seed Marshall Kent of Yakima, Washington, 228-194, in the title match to capture his first career Professional Bowlers Association Tour title and become the second foreign-born player to win the U.S. Open. Finland’s Mika Koivuniemi won the 2001 U.S. Open.

New Record Set
Submitted by Chip on Fri, 11/04/2016 - 13:41ARLINGTON, Texas - Professional Women's Bowling Association Tour titlist Liz Kuhlkin of Schenectady, New York, delivered 35 strikes Monday to set a national record for the highest three-game series by a woman with an 890.
The 23-year-old right-hander began her night at the Reis Group Kim Brown Memorial League at Schenectady's Towne Bowling Academy with back-to-back 300 games before leaving an 8 pin to start her final game. After converting the spare, Kuhlkin finished the evening by striking on her final 11 attempts for a 290.

LAS VEGAS – Jakob Butturff of Chandler, Ariz., won his second career Professional Bowlers Association Tour title Sunday in the PBA Xtra Frame South Point Las Vegas Open at South Point Bowling Plaza in a championship round that featured three of the PBA’s rising stars.
