TUCSON METRO USBC UPDATE

Tucson - - - Tucson Metro USBC is getting ready for the upcoming 2023-24 tournament season. The first event on the schedule is the Welcome Back (No-Tap) Tournament, Sunday, September 8, at Tucson Bowl. Spots for this fun event are quickly filling up.
On Saturday, September 14, at Bowlero Tucson, Tucson Metro USBC will be hosting the youth tournament for the Pay It Forward fundraiser for Tucson’s youth programs
The rest of the schedule is featured in our advertisement in Desert Bowler, the Tucson Metro USBC website (tucsonmetrousbc,com) and will be featured as well on the Tucson Metro Facebook Page.
2023-24 SEASON WRAP UP: Pins were flying in the 2023-24 season in Tucson’s bowling center, as the final statistics showed.
During the past season:
Fifty-nine bowlers bowled a total of 79, 300 games. Delano Coveris and Timothy Jacob each bowled four, 300 games during the season. Congratulations to everyone who achieved a perfect game during their league competition. Michelle Hunt was the only woman during the season to bowl a 300. Congratulations Michelle on your achievement!
Seventeen bowlers bowled an 800 series in league competition. Bryan Van Sickle had the highest series, 879. Matt Hunt bowled three, 800 series in his leagues, an amazing feat! Congratulations to all who achieved this honor score.
Fifty-four men had averages of 218 or higher in the season. Timothy Jacob had the highest league average, with a 239.
Thirteen women had averages of 200 or higher in the season. Bryanna Cote had the highest league average, with a 220.
For our youth bowlers, eight had 180 or higher. Braxton Sexton led youth bowlers with a 217 average. During the season, Braxton also bowled an 800 series! Great job Braxton!

CONGRATULATIONS TUCSON METRO USBC: As part of the Jamboree, was the annual Association Team Tournament, in which the winners received the Traveling Trophy and bragging rights. The tournament was held at Tucson Bowl on August 10. The team, Tucson Metro USBC #2, consisting of Steve Harris, Ken Lewis, Joe Shelton and Mark Kerr, won the tournament with a score of 2596.
