Former Major League Baseball All-Star pitcher John Burkett of Southlake, Texas, shot 247 in his final position round match Sunday to win his first PBA Regional title and become the first former Major Leaguer to win a PBA title at any level.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Dasha Kovalova of Ukraine became the fourth bowler in Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour history to roll a televised 300 game as she captured the win at the 2019 Pepsi PWBA Louisville Open on Saturday.

      Editors Note: We became friends with Norwood Bowl, on Facebook, a little over two years ago. We thought that since today is National Bowlers Day, it would be a good time to feature this mid-western bowling center. All through our journalistic career, we have always given the small bowling centers the publicity that it never gets. And the bowlers who bowl in it, the credit for the accomplishments they deserve. While Indiana is known for: The Brickyard, (Indianapolis 500); the Colts, and the Pacers.

Phoenix - - - In conjunction with National Bowling Day, coming up this Saturday August 10th. The Arizona Diamondbacks held their second annual 'Bowlers Day' at Chase Field on Sunday August 4th. The Dbacks won the game, 7-5, over the Washington Nationals.
