Construction Crew Uncovers Piece Of Phoenix History.

PHOENIX — A construction project in central Phoenix has recently allowed a century-old piece of Valley history to be uncovered.

"We knew it was there," Marshall Shore, the Valley's "Hip Historian" said looking at a hole in downtown Phoenix. "We didn't know how big it was. There was kind of these myths about where it was, what it was."

The Grand Canyon University Men's Bowling team traveled to Fresno, California over the weekend for their first pair of United States Bowling Congress tournaments of the season, finishing third and first overall in the West Coast Collegiate Championships I and II, respectively.

Team USA’s men won a gold medal while the women took fourth place in Baker Team play on the last day of competition at the 2022 International Bowling Federation World Cup at Suncity Tenpin Bowl in Queensland, Australia.

The Team USA men struck gold by defeating Puerto Rico 3-1 (214-172; 262-202; 221-222; 209-198) during Wednesday’s morning’s Men’s Baker Team final.

Puerto Rico walked away with the silver medal. Australia topped the Philippines to earn bronze.

Queensland, Australia – Team USA’s Bryanna Coté won the Women’s Singles gold medal while Kris Prather captured the men’s bronze on the final day of Singles competition at the 2022 International Bowling Federation World Cup at Suncity Tenpin Bowl in Queensland, Australia, on Tuesday morning.

Coté captured the gold by sweeping Singapore’s Hui Fen New 2-0 in the finals, taking Game 1 by a score of 194-186 before wrapping things up with a 226-201 victory in Game 2.
